Cass County has released its weekly report documenting COVID-19 impacts and vaccination efforts to combat the pandemic. The data is through the week ending October 23, 2021.
There were 127 confirmed (PCR tests) cases in Cass County in the last week, down from the 150 cases the week prior. In addition, there were 69 probable cases (antigen tests and other cases), up from 63 cases the week prior.

Mass Vaccination Announced in Missouri, Targeted Vaccination Sites Across the State 

An announcement was made by the Missouri Governor last week that the Missouri National Guard will begin assisting the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) and other State partners in establishing COVID-19 vaccination sites across the state. A mass vaccination team is assigned to each of Missouri's nine Highway Patrol regions.

Show Me Hope Crisis Counseling Extended to Support Missourians’ Emotional Needs Due to COVID-19

Behavioral health outreach continues through end of 2021!

 The Show Me Hope Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) grant is receiving additional funding through the end of December 2021. This extension will allow crisis counselors to continue to provide psychological services to help build hope and resiliency in Missourians who have been affected by COVID-19. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently awarded a $3.8 million grant extension for the CCP Regular Services Program (RSP) to the Department of Mental Health (DMH) for service delivery and outreach services through participating mental health agencies (listed alphabetically below). 

Show Me Hope crisis counselors are connecting Missourians statewide with local mental health resources. Any individual experiencing stress or emotional strain because of the pandemic may call or text the Disaster Distress Helpline 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-800-985-5990.

Johnson and Johnson Comment on Halted Usage of Vaccine

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., April 13, 2021– The safety and well-being of the people who use our products is our number one priority. We are aware of an extremely rare disorder involving people with blood clots in combination with low platelets in a small number of individuals who have received our COVID-19 vaccine.

Cass Regional Medical Center Named High-Throughput Vaccinator

The state of Missouri announced that Cass Regional Medical Center has been selected as a high-throughput vaccinator as part of Missouri’s new vaccine distribution plan. The hospital is scheduled to receive additional vaccine doses every other week beginning Feb. 8, enabling the organization to accommodate its first-dose vaccine appointments that were already scheduled. Plans for future first-dose vaccine clinics starting the week of Feb. 22 are in development and will be announced within the next few days.

First Shipments of COVID-19 Vaccines Arrive In Missouri 

 

(JEFFERSON CITY, MO) – Today, Governor Mike Parson announced that the first shipments of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines have arrived in Missouri. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Friday, December 11, confirming its safety and effectiveness.

More Than 5,000 Vaccinated at Cass So Far

Cass Regional Medical Center continues to be a force in the fight to end the COVID-19 pandemic. In the weeks since the hospital was selected as a high-throughput vaccinator as part of Missouri’s revised vaccine distribution plan, Cass Regional has vaccinated thousands more area residents.
