Hickory Grove Baptist Church’s annual Pioneer Day is coming up on September 18th from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. The family event is free to all with fun old-time activities for all ages.
This year’s events include Windy Hollow Bluegrass Band, pony rides, and crafts. The pioneer day crafts include making rag dolls, building tops, learning to write with a quill pen, trinket tin cans, and step-by-step thaumatrope making.
Come sharpen your slingshot skills as you practice shooting at a target or bring your neighbor and beat them at pitching horseshoes. The fun will continue as you learn a few steps in stilt walking.
Pioneer Days is a great time to take a step back on time and have old fashion family fun. Sit a spell on a hay bale, grab a hot dog, enjoy the music, sites, and sounds of our pioneer ancestors of long ago.
So save the date and gather family and friends for this fun, annual event for the community!
