Kylr Yust Sentenced

Cass County Judge William Collins has sentenced Kylr Yust today to 45 years in prison after the judge accepted the jury’s maximum recommended sentence in the murder trial of Kara Kopetsky and Jessica Runions
In Kopetsky’s death, he was convicted of voluntary manslaughter which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in the state of Missouri. He was found guilty of second-degree murder in Jessica Runions death and has received the maximum sentence of life, which is capped in the State of Missouri at 30 years and with parole eligibility after 85% of the sentence has been served.
It is also decided that his sentences will be served consecutively which is one right after the other. His motion for a new trial has been denied as well.

Cass County Assessor Roger Raffety is letting county property owners know that they should be receiving their 2021 Reassessment Letter over the next few days. The letter will detail the market value and assessed value of the property.
