Now there is a more convenient way to dump your drugs. Check out the drop off boxes at your local police station. Typically, throwing them in the trash or flushing them is a no-no, and pharmacies aren’t allowed to take returns on the unused portion of your medicine. Surprisingly, some medications come with a recommendation to flush them.

Santa is Coming in a Firetruck
The Pleasant Hill Fire Station is putting the final touches to the plans of Santa’s route around town. There will be a new route this year to include the parking lots of the schools in order to allow the maximum number of viewers.
Raymore Mayor’s Tree Lighting
Raymore will have it’s event at T.B. Hanna Station for the Mayor’s Tree Lighting and sixth annual Raymore Christmas Tree Trail at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3.
Complimentary hot chocolate, free ice skating, a visit from Santa and, of course, the beautiful tree trail and lighting of the Mayor’s Tree!

The 2021 Missouri Governor’s Mansion Christmas trees will arrive on Monday, November 29, 2021, between 7 a.m. - 8 a.m. A portion of Madison Street will be closed during this time.
Just Want Those Cans
The long story was written a couple of years ago when I wrote about an old man that would come to The City Lake to collect aluminum cans. Now I am writing about him one more time. He’s gone. I haven’t seen him since the beginning of the virus. I pray he is all right but I fear not. Now Sophie (my dog) and I are left with trash receptacles full of cans and loneliness in his absence. I didn’t even know his name. Magical things happen at The City Lake. You just have to look for them.
