Pleasant Hill School District votes to reinstate mask mandates in schools at a special meeting on August 31.  The BOE called a special meeting to give the public two minutes each to speak about the possibility of reinstating the mask mandate due to the rise in students having to quarantine.  After the public spoke, the BOE voted unanimously to bring the mandate back to the R-3 school district.

After the meeting, there were many upset, and tensions were high.  Discussions had already taken place for a couple of days on a local Facebook group page and culminated at the meeting.  As three people walked to the parking lot a fight had taken place over one taking videos at the event. The Cass County deputies called the local Pleasant Hill Police to help, and three were cited and now have court dates.
